Sad Ending

 Well finally we got a diagnosis on the motorhome. Once they pulled the valve cover off they found, what they call, grooving on the upper cam shaft lobe, I’ll post a pic of it. The Ford Service Center is still recommending a complete new engine block due too unknown possible damage. So we have decided to just drive it back home and have someone local see about fixing it.  We are extremely bummed about the whole situation. We had a lot of fun & exciting things lined up to see & do. Not to mention a nice visit with our kids and grandkids in Michigan.  So what’s next. We had decide to go back to Sandy River RV Park (Troutdale) for a week and then up to a RV Campground right along the Columbia River, not far into Washington, for a few days. Since it’s going to be way cooler here than in Palm Desert, kind of a no brainer to say here for a bit more. After that we will slowly start making the drive back home. Keeping Busy

 Good morning to all who are reading this. It’s Aug 1st and unfortunately we are still in the Portland area. Some positive news on the motorhome. They are finally working on it trying to determine where actually the noise from the engine is coming from, rather than speculating. They have finally removed the valve covers and now can visualize what is going on. That’s what I wanted them to do two weeks ago. They also have replaced the sway bar on the rear end of the motorhome, some progress being made. In the mean time, we have been trying to stay busy. Ended up going down to Lincoln City, on the Oregon coast, for three nights. Less than a two hour drive from our current location. It was nice to get away and to be at the coast. Found a cute little, pet friendly, rustic type inn, called Anchor Inn Resort, right on the 101 highway, more on the south end of town. Our room was interesting to say the least.
