Day1, And We Are Off
Another summer has arrived and that means one thing, time too pack up the motorhome and get out of dodge, IE…Coachella Valley. This yrs adventure takes us back up to Portland OR, then Seattle WA, area for the first 2-3 weeks. Then we head east out along Hwy 90/94, passing through Montana, South Dakota, Minneapolis, Wisconsin, then into Michigan, for a two week visit with our kids & grandkids. Then we will head down & around Lake Erie to upper NY to visit our oldest grandson, and hopefully take a trip over to Niagara Falls. Then we will start our trip back west. Stopping in Lafayette IN, for a USC game vs Purdue. Up to Milwaukee for a weekend baseball series to see my Angles. That puts us in Sept around the 18th, after that it’s kinda of still up in the air, but I am sure we will figure something out.
Today’s Stats- Miles- 261, Hrs- 6, 1.5 of that was for lunch and a quick battery connector fix, blaming that on Californians crappy pothole bumpy roads. Temp- 95 on arrival, Camp Site- Lost Hills KOA, site#6, packed dirt pad, pretty level, W/S/50amp. They say WiFi but unable to connect. Amenities- pool, laundry, showers.
We were fortunate to have missed all the 4th of July weekend traffic. Leaving at 7:30 am got us through and past LA before the traffic started backing up. We just started to hit some backup on I-5, but that was just a few miles from our exit to the campground.
