Motorhome Update
Well the latest update on the motorhome is an upper motor issue, lifters, rocker arms, valve springs or a combination of them all. Unfortunately all the necessary parts won’t all be in until tomorrow (Fri), and since they don’t work on the weekends it’s Mon morning until we can drop it off. They estimate 2-3 days of repairs. So we are not looking on getting out of here, Troutdale, until Wed or Thur, of next week, if no problems arise. I’ll keep updating if any happens.
Since all this is happening we have had to cancel our two stops in the Seattle area, Gig Harbor & Bothell. We are really bummed on not going to Bothell, we were planning to meet up with our new friends, Gary & Nancy, we met on our recent completed Camino Portuguese Walk. We also were lucky enough that they had an open site here at Sandy RV Park until at least Saturday. This morning we had to move to another site, which lucky enough was directly across from our original site, so that made it easy. Hopefully they will have another open site on Saturday to Monday, but if they don’t then we will go to Maryann’s family and they said we could park the motorhome in their driveway for a couple days.
We are having these little fix it issues also with the motorhome. Both the handles to the shower door fell off, had to glue those back on. The cold water hose to the sink was leaking this morning, ran to Camping World to get a new water line. A small cable to the hallway closet, keeps it from opening to far, broke, repaired that. A plastic latch to a drawer broke, still need to fix that. I replaced the fuel filter on the generator, it still won’t start, luckily there is a rv handy man that is parked almost next to us and I gave him a call, he is going to stop by today and take a look at it. Our entry step has a mind of its own. Sometimes it works & sometimes it won’t 🤬. I noticed a small panel on the back of the motorhome felt loose when I pushed on it, I looked under the rig and found two brackets that both the screws were missing, fixed that. The joys & headaches of owning a motorhome…geezzzzz!!!
Yesterday we did drive up to Mt. Saint Helens, which is about 1.5 hr drive. Unfortunately the Johnston Observatory was closed due to a mud slide, but we still were able to get a few nice pictures from a different location. On the way back we stopped at McMinamens Pub/Restaurant & Hotel in Kalama WA. It is located right along the Columbia River with excellent views of the activity going up and down the Columbia River.
It’s still hot here in the Portland area. 90-98 range, the nice thing it does cool down in the evening a bit and by early morning it’s in the 60’s. The Sandy River, just below us, has been a favorite site of many locals trying to stay cool from the heat. A husband & wife, down two sites from us, are moving to Portugal. They have lived in that 5th wheel for over 13 yrs. They donated the trailer to a non profit organization. They had everything that was in that rig just laying on the grassy area and somebody came to take it away. She didn’t even know if the thing would move🤣🤣. By late evening everything was gone. They were waiting for FedEx to deliver some type of travel permit to be delivered so they could take there cat with them on the flight, and they were flying out the next morning. As far as we knew FedEx never showed up so we don’t know what ever happened, if they made there flight or not. RV Park gossip🤣🤣.
Hopefully soon I’ll have something better to post on rather than the motorhome blues.. sounds like a good county song in the making
The motorhome is broke, I’m in a bad mood
We’re stuck out on the road, so far away from home
The wife begins to sigh, I then see a tear
That’s when I realize, oh crap, I down to my last cold beer!!
Not Bad!!!!, a few pics
